ABOUT US
Calicut University Teacher Education Centre (CUTEC), Calicut was established in 1981 in the campus of Ramakrishna Mission Higher Secondary School, Calicut. In 2007 it was shifted to Zamorins Higher Secondary School, Tali, Calicut. The institution is under the direct control of University of Calicut. It was established solely with the aim of providing quality training to aspiring teachers/qualified service teachers in upper primary/secondary/higher secondary schools. In 2006 the institution was shifted to new building at Big Bazar in Calicut. On 01-06-2021 the institution shifted to new building at kallai in Calicut
Calicut University Teacher Education Centre (CUTEC), Calicut presently offers B.Ed.in five optional subjects namely Physical Science, Mathematics, Commerce, Arabic and Malayalam. Anual intake of students to the institution is fifty .Teachers in the institution are well experienced and qualified. Our students’ academic and cultural activities are excellent.

- Individual development of student teachers based on values
- Engage student teachers in research activities to familiarize with different dimensions of teaching and learning process
- Prepare all student teachers for 21st-century realities such as sociocultural and linguistic diversity, challenges of inequities, digital technologies, and the need for innovative, creative, and critical thinking.
- Prepare a strong cadre of student teachers who have a clear vision and understanding of NCF and RTE, practical experience in applying these in classrooms, and strong facilitation and mentoring skills.
- Empower student teachers to become reflective practitioners, along with vision, attitudes, knowledge and skills required to design effective classroom strategies to meet the uniqueness of learners.
