ABOUT US

Calicut University Teacher Education Centre, located in an educationally and socially backward region of Wayanad District. The college was established in the year 1994. In all sense, academically and professionally the institution is a pioneer one in the district. Its socio economic and educational conditions are deplorably poor hence this institution is primarily intended to boost the educational development of this region. With an inspiring Moto, both educational and social backwardness to a great extent can eradicate by educational development of this area.

Presently the college is functioning in full equipped three storied building with all infrastructural and instructional facilities as stipulated by NCTE and other higher bodies. The present intake for B.Ed 50 student in Five subjects offered (English, Physical Science, Natural Science, Malayalam and Social Science). The college possessed 1.25 acres of own Land, a well-equipped building having a built up area 2222.84 sq meter against 1500 sq mts required as NCTE norms. More than required number of classrooms (51.04 sq.mtr for each class room), Laboratories (Science Lab, ICT Lab and Psychology Lab), Seminar Hall, Multipurpose Hall, An excellent Library with around 7000 books and educational Journals periodicals etc. Music Room, Separate common room for boys and girls etc. The college have fully qualified faculties in all subjects including Physical Education, Performing Arts and Fine Arts. The college is adorned with excellent academic and non academic record having 100% results in every years. The students gathered remarkable achievement in the competitive examinations conducted by higher education bodies like UGC-NTA etc. in the field of education. In area of co-curricular activities the contributions of the college is high.
