HISTORY
Calicut University Teacher Education Centre ,Koduvayur established in 1993 at Govt High School Campus Koduvayur in Palakkad District. Assistant Director K E Valsala was the founder head of the institution. The centre has started with a view to encourage the education of socially, educationally and economically backward area of the state. This is the only BEd centre other than the Department of Tamil, University of Kerala, where Tamil Optional subject is offered in the state. The institution offers five Optional subjects such as English, Mathematics, Physical Science, Social Science and Tamil. The institution was shifted to its own building in 2013 on Koduvayur –Palakkad road.
OUR MISSION
Equip the Teacher trainees an understanding of the trends, issues, and challenges facing Indian society and to familiarize with the socio-political economic dimensions of Indian society. The programme render to the teacher trainees would definitely help to understand the developmental process, problems and needs of students at various age levels and the role of teachers in facilitating such developments among them. By providing training on ICT the teacher trainees can explore their teaching techniques to a wide range and can enhance their teaching into a novel direction.

- To acquaints with prominent theories of learning and its implication in the class room learning
- They can engulf the gap between teacher and student and can motivate the students to attain their innate abilities and potentialities.
- All the programme rendered from this institution would help them to develop a positive attitude towards teaching profession and to identifies their own personal expectations, perception of self, capacities and inclination to become a professional and humane teacher
Calicut University Teacher Education Centre, Koduvayur offers two year B.Ed programme in 5 subjects with a total sanctioned strength of 55 students.
